When creating a new model, we at Mclaren go through a few levels of prototype cars before we start into a full production run. It starts with Experimental Prototype (XP) cars, then to Validation Prototype (VP) cars, and the last step is a few Pre Production (PP) cars before production begins. Each run of cars has a set of goals/tests it's out to accomplish, and often times the cars are used for safety testing. But, some are sent back to the factory after their initial tour of duty is accomplished, and they're rebuilt as new cars but with a significant and interesting story to tell their new owners.
This example is one of the rare pre-production cars used to test the 765LT Coupe before it went to full production. It was sent back to the factory an refinished in metallic Chicane Effect paint with a black and burnt orange alcantara interior and the Senna seats. Inside and out it has near all the available carbon fiber exterior options including exterior carbon pack 2, the MSO Defined rear aero bridge, and the rear diffuser. This is an opportunity to own a rare car that played part in the development of one of the most radical Mclaren's ever created.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to us at Mclaren Orlando and we'll be happy to help.
